Side Post Lever
This lever requires the entire side of the post (at least 3-1/2”) available, and a minimum of 1-1/2” inch opening between the top of the post and the fence. Many fences are attached to the middle of the post so this lever does not work. This works best if the gate latch is at lease 4 inches below the lever.
Front Post Lever
The primary feature of this lever is that it is hidden from view. However, most fences are six feet tall and this may be a difficult reach for height challenged persons. Works best when the latch is at least 6 or more inches below the lever.
This lever can also be placed off center, such as on the cross board of the fence with the chain at an angle, if, for instance, the post cap is in the way.
This gate lever is ideal for double gates! Placed at the top of the fence board it becomes easy to reach over the double gate fence boards and open your gate.
Often a second small board is screwed onto a fence board for reinforcement, but not necessary. (Screw end will have to be cut if only through fence board.)
Top Post Lever - Wide
This lever is perfect for folks who want to easily see how to open their gate, want to tap it with their elbow or for Airbnbs and friendly neighborhoods. It can be placed on top of the post cap if the cap is not too angled. Best placement is directly above the latch by at least 5 inches.
Top Post Lever - Narrow
If you have a very small surface, such as a 2x4 that your latch keeper is attached to. It is also a good option if you want a less obvious gate opener. The prongs on the mount can be bent (carefully) to accommodate a smaller surface mounting area.
The Front Post Lever works with almost any gate, including double gates. It is not the cutest in the line-up, but the most versatile. Many like it because you cannot see it from the outside.
The Side Post Lever is one of the most popular styles we sell and easiest to reach on a tall fence. It is reversible for mounting on either side of the post above the gate latch, whether your gate opens to the left or right. The full side of the fence post (3-1/2") is required to be available for placement.
The Top Post Lever comes in two styles: Wide and Narrow. This lever is easy to see for friendly neighborhood gatherings, yard maintenance, dog walkers, etc. The Top Post Lever takes a little longer to install, but is totally worth the effort. The mounting bracket is bendable for a variety of placement options.
This Narrow Top Post Lever has a smaller profile so that it works on a 2x4 next to your house or similar situation. It has a more stealthy look for those wanting to easily open their gate while not making it super noticeable for everyone else. The mounting bracket is bendable for a variety of placement options.
The Gate Lever can be installed quickly for a lifetime of easy gate latch opening. The styles are easily mounted on your fence post, gate or fence railing and work with the common self-closing gate latch (not included). It also works on vinyl, concrete or adobe fences, although you may need to purchase adaptable hardware. You just need some basic tools to install the lever - a Phillips screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers. (Although no one would argue with a cordless drill to make it easier).
Be sure to look at your gate closely to choose the right Gate Lever for your fence. We have three main styles, along with pretty patterns, available.
